Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health

Dr. Alireza Nikbakht Nasrabadi, the Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, in a message on International Nurses Day (May 12th) congratulated the professors, nursing students and all nurses working in the TUMS’ hospitals and thanked them for their efforts.
The text of the message:May
12th, the International Nurses Day, is a great opportunity to respect human rights and nurses’ rights who provide care relentlessly. Emphasizing the vital role of nurses and midwives in global health coverage, the World Health Organization has called 2022, the International Year of Nurses with the slogan: " Nurses: A Voice to Lead – Invest in nursing and respect rights to secure global health."
Although in our country, the birthday of Hazrat Zeinab Kobra (PBUH), has been named National Day of nurses, and every year on this day, the nurses are appreciated and honored, under the pretext of May 12th International Nurses Day and to highlight the sacrifices and humanitarian efforts of nurses in the Covid-19 pandemic with more than 100 nurse martyrs of this pandemic. I would like to first congratulate all nursing colleagues who has worked at the forefront of fight against Covid-19 pandemic, as well as respected faculty members and nursing students. I sincerely congratulate you and thank you for all your brilliant efforts in support of the society, and I pray to God Almighty for the health and happiness of you and all your loved ones.
It is hoped that the world will always appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of nurses, particularly in these difficult days.
