Congratulation and appreciation message of the Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery of Tehran University of Medical Sciences on the occasion of International Midwives’ Day
Dr. Alireza Nikbakht Nasrabadi, the Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery congratulated the International Midwives’ Day, on May 5th, to the professors and midwifery students and all midwives working in the University hospitals and appreciated their tireless efforts.
The International Midwives’ Day is an opportunity to pay tribute to one of the most hard-working members of the large family of the health system who sincerely strive with their knowledge, skills and mastery to promote reproductive health, maternal and infant health; whose efforts result in the start into life, vitality and health. Midwifery services are valuable and sacred and it has a key and undeniable role in reducing maternal and infant mortality in the country. Undoubtedly, their attention to hard work combined with their sense of responsibility is a role model for all those who think of serving the people sincerely and honestly; those who showed their kindness, responsibility and courage in the emerge of the Covid-19 pandemic.
While paying my respects and appreciating all the efforts and support of the midwifery community, I congratulate the International Midwives’ Day to the esteemed members of the faculty, dear students of midwifery and reproductive health of the School of Nursing and Midwifery as well as the hard-working midwives working in hospitals.
I pray to God for enormous success and health for all midwifes.
