On Monday 6th May 2019 a meeting was held between the fnm’s dean and number of faculty members and a delegation from Polytechnic University of Sulemani, Iraq that consisted of Dr. Fazel Ahmad mahiaddib, Dr. Marivan Abodllah and Dr. Salar Ebrahim, to discuss the establishment of High Tec nursing program in the Polytechnic University of Sulemani by the fnm.
Dr. Alireza Nikbakht Nasrabadi the fnm’s Dean welcomed the distinguished quests and briefly talked about the capabilities of fnm in running different nursing & midwifery programs at various degree levels.
Dr. Seylani, fnm’s vice-dean for international affairs also briefly introduced the faculty’s educational groups and explained the capabilities of fnm in helping the neighboring country of Iraq. The two parties talked about the technical part of the project in details and how it is better to run the program for one year first with 10 students in each disciplines and then, the two parties can talk about the continuation and/or expansion of the program in the following years.
At the end, an agreement was made to deliver the relevant educational modules and course descriptions to the University of Sulemani by the end of May 2019 and if approved by the Sulemani University the first group of students would be enrolled in the program at September the same year.
Dr. Alireza Nikbakht Nasrabadi the fnm’s Dean also informed the delegation that decisions about financial issues are made by the TUMS Deputy for International Affairs, and hoped that such collaboration would be expanded with neighboring countries as one of our objectives is to help other countries to promote their healthcare systems.
